Mark issue is 4010 (see message #msg94686 above) . About the control of the flags :) ... the Bob's post "... method will be implemented that will require hundreds of lines of code ..." is true. Order $(BASECFLAGS) @CFLAGS@ $(OPT) $(EXTRA_CFLAGS) look good as first start with project CFLAGS followed by env. CFLAGS and why will read README file for OPT and EXTRA_CFLAGS ?
