http://www.python.org/doc/current/ref/summary.html documents as higher-priority than unary - (by placing it in the following line on the precedence table). This is unfortunately false: is higher priority, so e.g. -2**2 evaluates to -4. Alas, and quite confusing to newbies, but at least it needs to be documented right.
