In the pull request https://github.com/python/asyncio/pull/452#issue-92245081 the linked comment says that `asyncio._set_running_loop()` is part of the public asyncio API and will be documented, but I couldn't find any references to this function in https://docs.python.org/3/library/asyncio-eventloop.html or anywhere else (tried quick searching for it) in the docs.
