Sorry, sorry!  That last comment describing the patch was mine (this is Ping).  Either SourceForge forgot i was logged in or i forgot to log in.  I was responding to Thomas' comment about the code-generation seeming "scary".

I just checked, and the current version (1.113) of Doc/tut/tut.tex still does not contain the changes which were part of that patch.  (That is, the section on list comprehensions does not have any examples showing the use of "if" clauses.)  I don't know why it didn't get applied when the rest of the patch did... but could you cut out that part of the patch, apply and check it in?
