Just want to add that it's a constant source of problem with respect to Redis and antirez wrote a detailed blog post about it yesterday : http://antirez.com/news/122 . It causes a lot of energy and emotional drain when issues like this get to twitter and top pages of HN : https://twitter.com/antirez/status/1037809132303208455
