[requested in http://bugs.debian.org/386738] plistlib which is currently under ./Lib/plat-mac/plistlib.py is usefull on other platforms too it's e.g. needed for packaging calendar-server -- Apple's calendar server The module could be packaged separately, but should better be used from the standard library.
