Russell, just checking before I change the issue title: do you mean supporting iOS as a cross-compilation target? "Development" is ambiguous here, as you could mean development *of* CPython, rather than *in* Python, and I assume development *for* iOS largely takes place on x86_64 Mac OS X, Windows and Linux systems.

Slavek, Robert - assuming my understanding of the change is correct, I think would be a very interesting CPython enhancement from a Fedora Workstation perspective.
