A comment from the training world: The instability of IDLE on the Mac makes teaching introductory Python courses a nightmare at the moment. Sure, one might argue that students should install an alternative editor, but then you usually end up with two problems instead of one. It would be great if IDLE just "worked" out of the box for starting out.
