Hi,
I've tried installing Python 2.4 on two different Windows
machines, one running 98 and the other running XP
Pro. In both cases, after installing it, none of the
programs that use python recognize that it has been
installed. These programs include WinCVS and Blender
and perhaps others.

Only installations of older versions of Python are
recognized by the programs (I think I'm using 2.3). Any
suggestions on what might be the problem?

Installation/usage questions belong on comp.lang.python (or
gmane.comp.python.general) or the corresponding mailing list at
www.python.org. Issues like this have been discussed there by
people who know more than I. Do mention whether you used the
2.4 installer or the newer 2.4.1 installer in case there were any
changes.

Closing as not a Python bug and most likely not an installer bug.
If you find out differently, we can reopen.
