I just ran into this while using the smtplib example on:
2.6 (r26:66714, Jan 17 2012, 11:02:11)
GCC 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-44)
Running the program simply gives a "Segmentation Fault (core dumped)"
Running it under gdb...
