Ok, 2.2b2 is *MUCH* better on this platform.  the _socket extension 
doesn't compile.  (EAI_MAX is not defined, and some other issues).  I am 
not sure where this is supposed to be defined. 

I am *STILL* willing to 
allow a python developer (or developers) access to my box.
