Without u_short and u_int the soclklen_t test can NEVER
suceed on 
OpenServer because of a syntax error in sys/socket.h whthout
them.
Ugly, but you don't seem to like the option of seting 
define_xopen_source=no on platforms that puilt fine prior to
2.3
