Martin, would it be possible to borrow someone else's machine and try to reproduce this? If you can, that would greatly reduce the probability of this being a HW error. It would also leave us with an exact set of commands to share so others can try it on their boxes.
It's true that SW memory corruption usually affects several contiguous bytes, but "usually" != "always" ;-) |
