Downloaded Windows 64 bit installer from:

https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/

Link said:

https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.9.5/python-3.9.5-amd64.exe

It downloaded what appears to be 3.8.10 installer. I launched it and I got the attached screenshot with 3.8.10 installer.

Tested it out 4 times. First 2 times it did the same thing. While testing the third time, acquiring screenshots so it took longer, it gave me the correct file! IDK what happened, unless you guys fixed it in between!

I suspect one or more of your screenshots did not make it through submission (you can only attach one at a time), but are you quite certain you got things straight here? This is the first report we've had of this, and I'm quite sure there would have been a flood of others if this were the case :)

Yes, I would agree, since it stopped happening on the 3rd and 4th try like someone noticed something on the server end; maybe a little guy running around inside the server, IDK?!

I'd close this myself, but it was certainly quite bizarre.

I don't see anything that looks odd from your screenshots, so I'll go ahead and close it. Steve can leave a note here if there was actually something going weird on the server that he fixed.
