When pressing Alt-E, Alt-I, Alt-N and Alt-U to create special characters in IDLE (the diacritics ´,ˆ,˜and¨) the program crashed.

Your report was already addressed in #27192, and the solution to your problem was given by Ned Deily. If you are still experiencing crashes with the official python.org version, please specify so. In the meantime, I'm closing this off as duplicate.
