when I try to install python2.4. using the python-
2.4.msi-file, it stopps with the error message: 
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error 
installing this package. This may inidicate a problem with 
this package. The error code is 2738"

Your presumption was right: vbscript 5.6 was all that was 
needed to make the installation run!
